Job Description

The Department of Management is looking to recruit a career professor whose scientific and professional interests lie in international development management and, in particular, humanitarian action. 

The candidate will be interested in teaching and researching topics related to humanitarian action, management of international cooperation and solidarity, and international cooperation organizations.

More specifically: 

  • Teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels in face-to-face, hybrid and distance learning modes.
  • Research and publication in specific fields related to the position.
  • Participation in the pedagogical and administrative activities of the Management Unit and the Faculty of Business Administration.
  • Participation in academic activities, off-campus and abroad, that contribute to the visibility of the University and the Faculty.
Selection criterias

Candidates must demonstrate the following: 

  • Ph. D. in administrative sciences, international development or humanitarian action, or other relevant field. Candidates who are already well advanced in their doctoral studies may be considered.
  • Proven research skills through research grants, contracts and/or publications in refereed journals in the field.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach university-level courses, in person and/or by distance learning.
  • Ability to teach in French within 3 years of taking up the position.
  • Ability and interest in teamwork and active campus presence in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
  • Professional experience in International Development and Humanitarian Action would be an asset.

Engagement et traitement
Full-time position
Partial release from teaching for the first year
Salary based on recognized experience with benefits in accordance with the Collective Agreement in effect at Université Laval
