The Department of Chemical Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Université Laval is seeking applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The successful candidate will be required to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, contribute fairly to departmental or institutional committee administrative activities, supervise graduate students, and undertake a vigorous research program in the field of biochemical engineering with expertise in the production of biopharmaceutical products in at least one of the following targeted areas: expression system design (improvement of microbial strains and animal cells through genetic engineering), intensified processes for the production of biological products through cell or fermentation culture (e.g., recombinant proteins, antibodies, vaccines, plasmids); bioproduct purification processes; technologies for the analysis and control of bioprocesses and bioproduct quality (PAT).
- Hold a bachelor's degree and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or in equivalent fields.
- Be a member of the ‘Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)’ or eligible for membership.
- The selected candidate must also be capable of teaching several courses in the undergraduate chemical engineering program. Both academic and industrial experiences will be considered during the selection process.
- Demonstrate an ability to conduct and develop university-level research, as well as the relevance of the proposed research program.
- Show excellent ability and interest in working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrate the ability to integrate harmoniously into the university environment, particularly within departmental life.
- The candidate must demonstrate relevant professional potential in connection with the eight (8) key competencies required for the professorial role:

*The courses are conducted in French. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken French or demonstrate an ability to integrate well and communicate within the francophone context of the institution (within a reasonable timeframe). Université Laval nevertheless offers various ways of learning and improving French for non-francophone candidates.
Conditions
Salary according to the current collective agreement.
