One tenure-track position open in Management Information Systems (MIS)
The Management Information Systems department at the Faculty of Business Administration of Université Laval is inviting applications for a faculty position at the open rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor starting June 1, 2026.
The Management Information Systems department (SIO) at the Faculty of Business Administration of Université Laval is inviting applications from qualified candidates with a Ph.D. in administration, or in an equivalent field, with a specialization in information systems for a faculty position at the open rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor starting June 1st, 2025. Responsibilities include:
- Teach MIS courses to undergraduate, master's and doctoral students.
- Conduct research in management information systems and/or related subjects.
- Supervise graduate and doctoral students and actively participate in continuing education activities.
- Contribute to the life of the department, school and university.
- Develop ties with the academic and business communities.
Candidates must:
- Hold a Ph.D. degree in business administration with a specialization in management information systems or equivalent. Candidates in the process of completing their doctoral studies will also be considered.
- Have an excellent research publication record or demonstrate a strong potential for future publications.
- Demonstrate research interests compatible with those of the SIO department.
- During a presentation to the department, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to transmit research results effectively and explain their scientific and practical implications.
- Demonstrate the ability to secure research funding.
- Be able to teach in the areas put forward by the SIO department.
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality teaching in the field of expertise.
- Be able to teach courses in French within a short period after the start date. Candidates who currently do not speak French are still encouraged to apply. If selected, these candidates will be given 2 to 3 years to learn the language.
- Demonstrate the ability and interest to participate and contribute to academic communities relevant to the SIO department.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain ties with the business communities.
- Be familiar with the other disciplines in business administration.
- Demonstrate the ability and interest to work in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment, and to ensure an active presence on campus.
